Colton House Hotel

Colton House Hotel is a luxurious family friendly hotel perfect for long stays as the rooms all have a decent kitchen and fridge, and importantly some kind of lounge to spread out and relax. The smallest ‘studio’ rooms are a massive 460 sq ft, with the largest well over 1000 sq ft. These are essentially luxury apartments, available in studio, one, two, and three bedroom varieties. It’s popular with family groups and the perfect place for anyone moving to Austin to stay for a few weeks while they find a house or an apartment.

The South Congress neighborhood is a cool location in the late stages of being gentrified. There’s plenty of great bars, and some iconic music venues including The Continental Room. It’s not all bars and music though South Congress has some great boutique shopping, with iconic stores like Allens Boots. There’s also plenty of restaurants and if you’re travelling with kids Amy’s Ice Cream is not to be missed.

One of the best things about Colton House Hotel is the backyard. This is a leafy space with some magnificent old oak trees and space to relax. The pool isn’t large but it is really nice, a relaxing place to spend a hot afternoon. They also have a small fitness center to work off that Amy’s ice cream. Simona’s Coffee and Cocktails is the inhouse bar and coffee shop. They serve food as well in partnership with local restaurants, but those looking for a substantial meal will need to choose one of South Congresses many restaurants.

All things considered Colton House Hotel is a wonderful luxurious place to stay for a single night, a week or even a month. Perfect for couples or families.
