Super 8 by Wyndham Austin Downtown/Capitol Area is not for everyone. Y’all will know if you’re a Super 8 family or not. But this hotel offers unbeatable prices for the location. It’s the best Austin hotel for large families on a budget as they offer 3 queen beds in a room.

During major events this Super 8 is popular with groups of friends in town to party so not the place for young kids if you are coming to Austin during ACL, SXSW, or any other major event. But otherwise it’s a great value option for families wanting to stay near the city center on a budget.

Embassy Suites by Hilton Arboretum is located near The Domain. It’s a 3 star hotel that offers safe clean family rooms in a nice part of town at a reasonable cost. Family rooms all have two queen beds plus a sofa bed so even if you have 3 kids all y’all can stay in the same room. This is a great value family hotel. Even more so as breakfast is included.

Archer Hotel Austin is often thought of as a romantic hotel for couples, or the perfect girls weekend. But it is a great option for families too. They offer either double Queen or Double King rooms. The double Queen rooms can interconnect to a King suite. The location is great too. Archer Hotel is in The Domain, with great shopping and plenty of dining options.

Holiday Inn Express & Suites Austin NW – Lakeline is another great hotel for families in Austin. Its location is in Austin’s North West, 9 miles from Lake Travis. It’s a 10 minute walk from Lakeline Mall. The double Queen rooms all offer sofa beds as well which makes it economical for larger families (you can fit up to 6 people in a room). This is the best option for families in town for the Rodeo.

Marriott’s Residence Inn in Austin Southwest offers double queen rooms with a sofa bed. It is great to see a hotel room in Austin that can accommodate a family of 6. There is a fabulous outdoor swimming pool with views of the Texas Hill Country. The hotel itself is a 3 star and has everything you need, there’s even a jacuzzi. Located about 9 miles from downtown it’s a nice quiet part of Austin, perfect for families.

Austin Southpark Hotel is an older upscale hotel in South Austin. Families love the heated pool which starts indoors and allows you to swim outside. The pool is large, kids old enough to swim unsupervised will have a lot of fun here. They offer double queen rooms, but larger families will need two rooms.

Holiday Inn Express & Suites Austin South is located just off the I-35 a couple of miles south of downtown. The neighborhood isn’t the best but the hotel is great. The rooms are really generously sized, and well priced. Their double queen room has a sofa bed as well as the two queen beds, so it can accommodate a family of six. They offer a basic breakfast, and it’s not far to downtown Austin and even closer to South Congress. Perfect for any Family visiting Austin.
